28 Interaction with Test Management Tools
QF-Test provides several pragmatic test management approaches, such as creating a test case overview or documenting test cases directly within QF-Test. In larger projects, however, it may be necessary to use a dedicated test management system to track the development status of test cases or to link test cases and their results to defects, use cases, or features. In addition to planning test cases and tracking their results, a test management system may also include a test execution engine that manages the allocation of test systems across different test runs. Although QF-Test does not provide all of these features natively, it is easy to integrate QF-Test with such systems.
10.1+ QF-Test provides particularly tight integration with the test management tools TMT and Xray, enabling efficient synchronization of test cases and test results. Other tools can be integrated using QF-Test batch mode or QF-Test daemon mode. For more information about batch mode and daemon mode, see "Test execution". The following sections describe the TMT and Xray integrations in detail, as well as several example solutions that we provide for other established test management systems. If you do not find your test management system listed, please contact our support team for guidance on possible integration approaches.
