QF-Test 1.99.0, the first Beta version for QF-Test 2.0 has been released today.Highlights among the new features are support for testing Eclipse / SWT based applications, small-scale test management support, fully automated dependency management and data-driven testing without the need for scripting.

Besides some bugfixes, this maintenance release for the stable 1.8 branch of qftestJUI also introduces a few new features, including a new way of recording image checks and a menu item for triggering thread dumps in the system under test.

A subtle change in JDK version 1.05.0_06 could cause an annoying exception which this release fixes along with a number of other small issues. It also comes with a few minor improvements and updates to the documentation.

This version of qftestJUI fixes a bug that prevented proper recording of checks on sub-items of complex components.

This version of qftestJUI now officially supports load testing. The event filters introduced in the previous version make it possible to run multiple SUTs on a single desktop. This version adds the ability to synchronize tests across multiple machines.The newly introduced license models facilitate running a large number of parallel tests at a reasonable price.

Most prominent are support for Java applets, direct recording of Drag&Drop, return values for Procedure nodes, on-the-fly compression of run logs, hierarchical resolution of component names and a NameResolver for OptionPanes.

Version 1.06.0, the new stable version of qftestJUI, is now available for download. Highlights in this update include image checks for the automated verification of graphical user-interface elements and time constraints for monitoring response time behavior. This release additionally offers support of Java version 1.5 as well as a new plugin concept for jar files, the integration of external script editors, and a test library with useful standard procedures.

This new release on the qftestJUI development branch features support for JDK 1.5 beta, automatic handling of temporary modal dialogs and ‘busy’ GlassPanes as well as improved recording, packing and replay of mouse events in tricky circumstances.

QFS took part in CeBIT 2004 - one of the world’s largest IT trade-shows - in Hannover, Germany from March 18th through the 24th.We are very happy with the feedback we received for qftestJUI on seven hard but inspiring days at the fair.
